Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Processing

According to the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Ukraine will integrate EU directives on waste electrical and electronic equipment (Directive 2012/19/EC) and on waste batteries treatment (Directive 2006/66/EC) into national law. European Commission funds a technical assistance Twinning project supporting efforts of relevant Ministries to develop necessary legislation. As of 2016, there are no operational WEEE and waste batteries processing facilities in Ukraine.

PPV Knowledge Networks has identified WEEE processing and treatment as one of the priority industries for the Novyi Rozdil Industrial Park (Lviv oblast). PPV Knowledge Networks staff is taken part in the aforementioned Twinning project working groups and are involved in developing national legislation in this area.

PPV Knowledge Networks is interested in establishing joint ventures with qualified partners to operate on WEEE emerging market in Ukraine, esp. in collection systems management and processing and treatment facilities. Novyi Rozdil Industrial Park is available as a location.
