Duration: January - February 2023
Clients: Ukrainian Library Association
"Ideathons in libraries" is part of the project "Economic Restart: Support for Creative Entrepreneurship in Decentralized and Frontline Communities." The PPV team, along with recruited experts and project partners, organized ideathons in 5 libraries:
- Chernihiv City Library named after M.M. Kotsiubynsky,
- Nizhyn Central City Library,
- Priluki Central City Library named after L. Zabashta,
- Sumy Central City Library named after T. Shevchenko,
- Trostianets Public Library
The ideathons involved librarians, readers, youth, educators, active residents of the cities, and officials. Together, they worked on ideas to make the library premises more user-friendly, attractive, and modern. The process was facilitated by designers Taras Pastushchuk and Marta Buriak, who utilize participatory design practices in their work. Participants developed several different ideas. Later, with grant support, the organizers acquired the necessary resources to partially implement one of the ideas.
PPV's role:
- Formulated the project idea
- Identified and engaged designers
- Coordinated the ideathon process
